How do I register for lessons?
Register online from the Home page or on the Class Option page by choosing your class via your your preferred location.
Call us at 919-533-7008 during our hours of operation if you need asssistance.
When can I sign up?
You can sign up for lessons at any time! We run on a continuous enrollment cycle, meaning that if we have a class available, your child can begin at any time.
What if my class does not begin on the first of the month?
We will pro-rate the first month for the number of classes left in that month.
You will then go into our automatic monthly billing system for all future months and your account will be billed on the 25th of each month thereafter.
When does my enrollment end?
The best part of our continuous enrollment cycle is that you are enrolled in lessons as long you want to be. We require an initial commitment of two months of lessons. After your first two months, you remain enrolled on a month-to-month billing cycle.
What if I need to stop lessons?
Should you wish to stop or take a break from lessons, simply log into your account. Click Enrollment under the student you wish to withdraw. Click the Drop Enrollment button and enter drop date. Please be aware that drops must occur at least 30 days prior to your desired end date. No refunds will be issued for late cancellation requests.
To reenroll after a withdrawal, the student will need to complete the registration process again and will be subject to the existing wait list.
Why do I need to give a 30-day notice to cancel my swim lessons?
30 days gives us sufficient time to cancel your enrollment and fill your class spot.
If I withdraw and take a break from lessons, can we come back to the same class and instructor when we return?
We cannot guarantee a class opening in a student’s original class when they return. But we would be happy to help waitlist or enroll your student in a class that fits their specifications.
How big are your classes?
The majority of our classes are semi-private or 2 kids per instructor. We also offer private lessons 1:1.
We do have larger class options for baby classes 6:1, and Competitive Stroke classes (swim team prep) 4:1 to 6:1.
Why don’t you have sessions?
We wanted to offer something different to our customers than what other schools offer. So, when you enroll at Triangle Swim School you are enrolled until you tell us otherwise. This means that you will not need to re-register every session and you can keep the spot and the instructor that works for you.
How do I determine what level class I should select for my child?
See the class descriptions page to determine the appropriate level for your child.
If I have kids at different levels, can they swim at the same time?
Of course! Our sibling classes are our most popular option, and due to our small class sizes allow our instructor to work with your children at exactly the level that they are at regardless of their classmate’s skill level.
We also offer an array of levels during each half-hour block, which allows you to schedule separate lessons for multiple students at the same time.
What happens when my child gets put in a class with another child that is more or less advanced than my child?

Can I change my class time?
Yes, you are welcome to transfer classes.
We cannot accommodate schedule changes on a week-to-week basis. But we would be happy to move your class permanently to another time if we have a class available.
How do I change my class day and/or time?
To change your day or time, search all the days and times for available slots through the customer portal. View the enroll tab to see all the classes with openings and enroll. You will be unable to drop your original class on the website when you enroll in the new class, please email support to notify them of the change and we will drop you from your current class and complete the transfer.
Do I need to change class times when my child moves up a level?
Not necessarily. You can continue to work with the same instructor at the same time because our instructors are trained to teach students at all skill levels.
We do encourage you to move your child to move your child to a level 4 class when they meet the requirements for that class. Level 4 classes are the only classes guaranteed to have a lap lane and gain the endurance required to move from swim lessons to swim team.
How do you bill for lessons?
Your initial month and annual registration fee must be paid prior to your child’s first lesson. After your initial commitment, tuition is billed monthly on the 25th of the prior month and auto-billed to your credit card for the upcoming month (ex: February will be auto-billed on January 25).
How many lessons are included in the monthly tuition?
Monthly tuition is for 4 classes per month. Always on the same day and time, classes meet once a week for 30-minutes, unless stated otherwise. During months with 5 potential class days, we will only schedule 4 class days. With months less than 4 classes we will prorate and lower your tuition cost.
How do I know what days Triangle Swim School is closed for the holidays?
Triangle Swim School closes for national holidays. We also have pool closure days when there are 5 possible class days in a month. Please see the calendar tab on the website to stay informed about pool closures.
How much is the annual registration fee?
Our annual registration fee is $45 per family. Registration fees are charged when a new family enrolls and once per year every January.
What happens if my credit card is declined?
For failed payments, your student will not be allowed to swim until payment for that month’s lessons has been received. If you are just starting lessons with us, your student will not be allowed to swim until the initial monthly tuition and registration fee have been paid. Billing information can be updated in the parent portal or by calling 919-533-7008. If we are unable to update your billing information and charge you within 7 days your class time will be forfeited and offered to a family on the waitlist.
Do you offer make-up lessons?
In order to help us keep our classes small, consistent and keep our prices down, we are not able to offer refunds, credits, or make-ups for any reason.
What happens if the pool closes due to bad weather or an incident in the pool?
In the event of a weather emergency (i.e. tornado or hurricane), a notification of weather-related class cancellations will be sent via text and email ASAP.
In the event of an incident in the pool such as “vomit” or “poop” the pool will be closed for 30 minutes to an hour and all classes will be cancelled. If classes are cancelled because of weather or a pool closure, we will issue a class credit to be used toward your next monthly tuition.
Although we do our best to notify our customers, we aren’t always able to let customers know before they arrive at the pool in the case of a sudden incident.
What is your refund policy?
We do not refund missed classes unless TSS is the party that cancels the class.
Can I request an instructor?
Yes. We cannot guarantee a coach but if the coach you would like has an opening we can transfer or enroll you in their class.
Are instructor schedules subject to change?
Yes. We do not guarantee coaches and schedules. All are subject to change. All coaches adhere to the same curriculum to ensure consistency.
What if my child wants an instructor of a specific gender?
We understand that some students work better with a coach of a specific gender, and we will work with you to find a day and time that allows your swimmer to be with the requested male or female coach.
What does my child need to bring to lessons?
Please make sure your child has a swimsuit, towel, and goggles for each lesson. If the child has long hair, please tie it back or have them wear a swim cap.
Does my child need a swim diaper?
If your child is not fully potty training or is under 3 years of age, we require that he/she wear a reusable swim diaper. Regular absorbable diapers and swim diapers are never permitted.
Is the Waiver/Release of Liability Form required?
Yes. Under no circumstances will a student be permitted to participate until the waiver/release of liability form is signed.
Can my child stay and play in the pool after their lesson or arrive early and swim?
No, children will only be allowed to be in the pool during their lesson. There is no free swim. This keeps our pool safe and quiet for all students' lessons.
Can my child swim with a medical condition?
A student with a known medical condition must have a signed medical release from the student’s physician prior to the first day of class. Ear infections are a common reason why children are restricted from participating in swimming lessons. Since medical professionals have different opinions about swimming, ear infections, and tubes, please consult with your physician.
If my child has an infection, disease, or illness can they enter the pool?
For the health of all children, please do not bring your child in if they are feeling ill. It is recommended by doctors that children with a fever, rash or any other symptom of an infection or virus NOT be around others. Children with diarrhea will not be admitted. Children who do not feel well during class will be sent home.
